A journey of discovery
Anne Dubbs and Elizabeth Downing met through mutual friends and immediately found they had many things in common including their American heritage, passion for design and dedication to their families and dogs.
Both women had careers in design in New York before relocating to London, Anne at Cowtan & Tout and Liz at Mark Hampton Inc.
Together they founded Blithfield in London in 1997.
Much of the collection is drawn from their extensive archive, a collection of historic documents accumulated over many years of sourcing and exploration.

ANNE DUBBS
Anne Dubbs, now based in New York, is the creative director; her inspiration is the source for all of the fabric and wallpaper designs.
ELIZABETH DOWNING
Liz Downing, based in London, is the sales, marketing and production director.
ANDREA LINTON
Andrea has a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in textile design from Central Saint Martins, University of Arts London with a specialization in woven fabrics.
Andrea has a strong interest in interior design as well as textile production.
She acts as our sales and samples associate and also coordinates quality control.
BECKY PATTMAN
Becky joined Blithfield from Liberty of London, bringing with her many years of experience in both small and large home furnishing fabric companies.
Graduating with a Bachelor of Science in textile design, Becky gravitated toward printed textile and wallpaper production.
She now heads up production of all our printed and woven designs, working with mills around the world.
CHARLOTTE SUMMERHAYES
Charlotte has a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) specializing in Sculpture from The Edinburgh College of Art.
Her passion for design has always been strongly influenced by print and textiles, which has evolved into a strong interest in interior decor.
Charlotte is Blithfield’s point of contact in the showroom at Number 13 and helps to manage sales and marketing.
MIRANDA MACFARLANE
After completing her Bachelor of Arts degree at Manchester University, Miranda initially pursued a career in fashion marketing, e-commerce and sales.
While working at The Conran Shop, Miranda was inspired to pursue her interest in interiors. Miranda subsequently completed an interior design course at KLC and now is a member Blithfield’s sales and marketing team.
